The Joyful Tarot

Are you ready to take your Tarot practice from fearful to fun, rigid to intuitive, uneasy to empowered?

Tarot is a powerful practice for building self-trust, intuition, and having a support system that has, like, the entire wisdom of the universe at your hands in something that can fit inside your pocket. But too often, we’re taught that Tarot is fearful. That it’s rule-based and rigid. That there’s something unsettling, uneasy, even scary about it.

Hogwash.

I’ve been reading Tarot for over 8 years and along the way I’ve learned a few things.

Tarot wants to support you, deeply, and guide you to your highest self and fullest expression.

There are no rules in Tarot. You can develop your own personal reading practice and interpretation based on your knowing and intuition that’s just as “correct” as any book or resources on the internet.

Tarot is wildly empowering and wise. It’s like having your kooky aunt who talks to trees but also seems eminently wise on speed-dial; it’s like having a best friend in your pocket.

Tarot loves you.

So let’s have some fun with it, huh?!

Let’s get joyful

Welcome to the Joyful Tarot

This is an 8-week course to learn how to make reading Tarot fun, supportive and useful in your daily life.

We’ll learn things like…

  • How to create a relationship with your Tarot deck, just as if it were a person, a new friend… because it is

  • How to cleanse and charge your deck

  • Why the pentacles AREN’T material possessions or money (at least, in my opinion); why the swords are about your voice; what the cups have to do with vulnerability; and what wands have to do with your physical health.

  • How to create your own “Tarot Trapper Keeper” — your book and full record of your own meanings of Tarot

  • Reading Tarot intuitively, rather than “by the book”

  • How to create your own spreads and read for others with joy

And lots more!

The details…

We’ll meet Tuesdays at 8pmET, starting April 23 (we will skip Tuesday, May 7th, as I’m traveling then). Every evening for 90-120 minutes we’ll do the following…

  • Open with intention setting and a Tarot card pull

  • Learn a Tarot lesson (see course outline below)

  • Do a live practice together, learning to read for each other in breakout rooms

  • Q&A with Catherine

  • Homework assignment

Course outline and what you’ll learn…

  • April 23, Week 1: Meeting, learning about, and taking care of your Tarot Deck (how to cleanse, charge, store, and speak with it)

  • April 30, Week 2: Creating your Tarot Textbook, aka YOUR record of what Tarot means to you (prepare to have stickers, colored pens, and more). We’ll also do a review of the 101 basics of Tarot cards, because reviewing the foundation is never a bad idea!

  • May 7, Week 3: Writing your chapter in your textbook: No live call this week but you’ll have a “Tarot book report” to prepare, so stay tuned for the assignment!

  • May 14, Week 4: Learning new meanings of the Pentacles, Cups, Wands and Swords

  • May 21, Week 5: Combining Tarot & Parts Work - learning how to see the cards, and especially the Court Cards, as inner parts of yourself

  • May 28, Week 6: Learning the Intuitive Reading Method of Tarot that I use and teach (aka, how to learn to trust yourself when you pull cards and learn what each card means to YOU)

  • June 4: Week 7: How to create your own spreads, and reading for others

  • June 11, Week 8: Closing ceremony, Q&A and what’s next for your practice?

Is this course right for me?

The course is for anybody, whether you’re an utter beginner or have a pretty regular practice (though parts of it will probably be redundant for extremely experienced readers). This is for anybody who feels the call to go deeper with Tarot, but do it in a way that’s love and joy-based, not fear-based. If you’ve been feeling drawn towards Tarot, but experience nervousness about fear, scariness, getting it “wrong,” not understanding all the rules; if you struggle with perfectionism around Tarot; come on in, the Tarot water is fine. If you’ve been frantically googling every time you pull a card, or comparing your own knowing against external sources and books, and and are ready for your practice to instead feel more flowy, fun, intuitive, open and freeing, then the Joyful Tarot will be great for you.

Who’s the teacheR?

That’s me, Catherine Andrews! I’m a life coach, spiritual mentor and teacher, working with highly sensitive beings, empaths, ADHD and neurodivergent folks to live a more fully expressed, joyful, authentic, magical and meaningful life. I’ve been reading Tarot personally for nearly 10 years and professionally for the last five, and have - as you will, too! - developed my own understanding and take on the cards, which I’ll be teaching for the first time to the public in the Joyful Tarot. You can read more about me here.
